Mr. Vijaykumar Rathod, Assistant Professor was selected as “Summer Research Fellow” 2012 by Indian Academy of Science, Bangalore and he was assigned to undergo two months ( May to June 2012) training on “Molecular Approaches for Drought Resistance in Legumes” at ICRISAT, Hyderabad under the guidance of Dr. Rajeevkumar Varshney, Director, Centre of Excellence in Genomics and was issued with the certificate from the ICRISAT, Hyderabad on 10.07.2012.

Ministry of Food Processing, Government of India and Indian Grape Processing Board nominated Dr. A. B. Patil, Director of Extension, UHS Bagalkot as a member of National Level Committee on Viticulture for guiding and formulating the policies on Viticulture Development in India.

Allolli, Professor of Fruit Science, RHREC, Dharwad were conferred with (FCHAI) Fellow of Confederation of Horticulture Association of India by former DDG (Horticulture) Dr. H.P. Singh during the General Body Meeting of CHAI held at Jain Hills, Jalagoan, Maharastra during the International Conference on Water Management for Climate Resilient Agriculture for the period from 27.05.2013 to 01.06.2013. CHAI Fellow awardees also co-chaired different technical sessions.

Dr. K. M. Indiresh, Professor, (Horticulture) and Dean COH, Mysore, has been nominated as a Co-opted Member for the Research and Development Committee of the Coconut Development Board Kochi, Kerala for two years from 29.06.2013, considering his contributions in the area of coconut research & development.

Dr. A. B. Patil, Director of Extension, UHS Bagalkot is nominated by Director General, ICAR, New Delhi on 21st November 2013 as Member of ICAR Peer Review Team to visit Dr. YSR Horticultural University, VR Gudem, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh to validate Self Study Report and to make assessment for Accreditation.

Dr. Vasanth Ganiger, Associate Professor of Vegetable Science, College of Horticulture, Bagalkot is awarded as Best NSS Programme Officer for the year 2012- 13 by the Govt. of Karnataka on 28.10.2013. The award was presented by His Excellency Sri Hans Raj Bharadwaj, Hon'ble Governor of Karnataka.

The COH and HEEU, Mysore and HRS, Arsikere jointly participated in Suttur Jathra Mahotsava- Krishimela Exhibition, Suttur, Mysore organized by his Holiness Sri Adijagadguru Shri Srishivarathreshwara Shivayogi of Suttur Mutt from 27th Jan to 1st Feb. 2014 and UHS, stall bagged the First Prize.

Prof. H.B. Lingaiah, Dean and Campus Head, COH, Bengaluru has been conferred the Appreciation Award by His Excellency Dr. Hans Raj Bhardwaj, the Governor of Karnataka on recognition of dedicated service as a Teacher, instituted by Rotary Bangalore South and Karnataka Civil Defence Corps on 28.09.2013.

In recognition of significant contributions of Dr. Ashok S. Alur for being the part of the mission on reducing poverty, hunger, malnutrition and environmental degradation in dry land tropics in Asia and Sub Saharan Africa, was honoured with Certificate of Appreciation on 07.12.2013 at ICRISAT Hyderabad. Considering the yeoman service to the farming community,

 Dr. Ashok S. Alur was honoured with Sarvottama Seva Award at the State level. The Award was given by His Excellency, Dr. Hans Raj Bharadwaja, the Governor of Karnataka at Raj Bhavan, Bengaluru on 26.01.2014. In recognition of outstanding contributions in the field of Science and Communication, Dr. Ashok S. Alur has been conferred with Science Communicators Award- 2013 by Vision Group on Science and Technology, Department of IT, BT & Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to Weed Science, the Indian Society of Weed Science honoured Dr. T. V. Muniyappa, Hon'ble Member, Board of Management, UHS Bagalkot with the ISWS Special Appreciation Award for the year 2012-13.

Dr. Chidanand P. Mansur, Dean, COH, Bagalkot was nominated by Her Excellency, Governor of Rajasthan and Chancellor, Swami Keshavanand Rajasthan Agriculture University (SKRAU), Bikaner as Chancellor's Nominee on the Selection Committee for preparation of a panel of names for appointment of Vice Chancellor of SKRAU, Bikaner on 04.03.2014.

Dr. Laxminarayan Hegde, Prof. & Head, HRS, Sirsi has been conferred with The Best Citizens of India Award-2014 by International Publishing House, New Delhi during March 2014 considering his societal services.

The research paper authored by Ms. Archana Pattar, Dr. Laxman Kukanoor, Dr. N.K. Hegde and Dr. Praveen Jholgiker, Dept. of PHT, KRCCH, Arabhavi was awarded Dr. J. S. Pruthi Memorial Award for the Development of New Products/New Process/New Machinery with a certificate and a cash prize of ` 5000 and was presented in 69th Annual Conference & National Seminar held on 12th Dec. 2013 at India International Centre, New Delhi.

Mr. Kashinath Patil and Ms. Akshata Hongal of KRC College of Horticulture, Arabhavi, bagged the first prize in district level science exhibition in the 13th Satish Sugars Awards event held at Gokak. Students have prepared and exhibited the model of “ECO FRIENDLY HYDRUM” which can lift the water without electric power / energy up to a height of 20-25 feet under the guidance of Dr Dileepkumar Masuthi which has attracted many people in the function. The students received the cash award, certificate and a trophy.

Dr. Chidanand P. Mansoor, Dean, COH, Bagalkot has been nominated as Member of Faculty Selection Committee of the Agriculture University, Kota, Rajasthan for a period of one year w.e.f. 31.03.2014 by her Excellency, Governor of Rajasthan received in the month of April 2014.

Dr. A. B. Patil, Director of Extension, UHS, Bagalkot is nominated by Union Minister of Agriculture and President of ICAR as a member of Institute Management Committee (IMC) for National Research Centre on Grapes (NRC), Pune, Maharashtra and accordingly the 35th IMC meeting of NRC on Grapes at Pune on 9th July 2014 was attended by him.

Dr. Ashok S. Alur, Professor of Soil Science and In charge, PPMC, UHS, Bagalkot conferred with Science Communicators Award by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri. Siddaramaiah at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore on 16th June 2014.

Dr. K. Ramachandra Naik, Principal Investigator & Head, AICRP on Potato, RHREC, Dharwad conferred with Dr. Abdul Kalam Life Time Achievement National Award for his distinguished contribution in the field of his specialization by International Institute for Social and Economic Reforms (R), Bengaluru on 25th July 2014.

Ms. Aswathi Jyothsana, III B.Sc. (Horticulture) student from College of Horticulture, Mysore has represented India and participated in 14 days exchange study programme sponsored by AAACU, Philippines, which was held at Seoul, South Korea from 23.06.2014 to 05.07.2014 hosted by South Korea University of Agricultural Sciences. She was the only one student from India qualified and participated in the above study tour. She delivered a lecture on “Progress of Indian Agriculture” as a part of the programme.

Dr. H. B. Lingaiah, Dean, COH, Bengaluru has been nominated by The Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICAR as Member Convener to support 5t h Deans' Committee on “Higher Agricultural Education in India” for the subjects on Horticulture and Sericulture. Dr. Chidanand P. Mansur, Dean, College of Horticulture, Bagalkot has been nominated by Her Excellency the Governor of Rajasthan as her nominee to the Finance Committee of Jai Narain Vyas University (JNVU) for a period of three years from 17th July, 2014 to 16th July 2017.

Mr. Chandrakant V. Patil, Sr.M. Sc. Student of Dept. of Plant Pathology, KRCCH, Arabhavi won the 1st prize for his oral presentation on “Characterization of begomovirus associated with yellow mosaic disease of ridge gourd in southern India”at National Seminar, Bhubaneswar on 8-10th August, 2014 under the guidance of Dr. Ramdas, S.V. Dr. Shankarappa, K.S. and Dr. M. S. Kulkarni.

Ms. Sujayasree, O. J., Jr M. Sc. Student, Department of Post-Harvest Technology, College of Horticulture, Bengaluru bagged third prize in the national level essay competition on the topic “Farming as my profession” held in commemoration of the Silver Jubilee celebration of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), New Delhi. Around 200 student participants from 65 farm universities throughout the country participated in the essay competition.

Sc. category by Cooch Bihar Association for Cultivation of Agricultural Science, West Bengal for his M. Dr. N. Basavaraj, Dean (Hort.), College of Horticulture, Sirsi was conferred with a Fellow Award from Association for the Advancement of Biodiversity Science, Belgaum recently in December 2015. Dr. Kiran Kumar, K.C., Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology, COH, Bagalkot has been awarded with Best Poster Award for his research paper entitled “Management of powdery and downy mildew of grapes using Bacillus subtillis” in National Symposium (IPS-South zone) on “Recent trends in Plant Pathological Research and Education” held at UAS, Raichur from 5-6 Jan. th 2016.

Dr. A. B. Patil was also an Academic Council Member for Dr. YSR Horticulture University, Andra Pradesh for three years form 2012-2015.
